The Main Idea

The Main Idea, is an extraordinary and distinctive 10 day program, for girls ages 9-14, who might not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from a summer camp experience.

Sharing the same idyllic setting as Camp Walden in Denmark, Maine, The Main Idea offers a closely knit, family oriented camping environment, which enables each girl the opportunity to fully develop their own personality and skills.

Founded in 1968, The Main Idea has successfully created an atmosphere, which builds self confidence, promotes leadership skills, and provides a trusting and secure environment where the girls learn to live together, set new goals and enjoy the natural splendor surrounding them.

The Main Idea is happiness, laughter, spirit, and friendship.
